Operation Christmas Child 2011

110
So, it is Operation Christmas Child time and our church hosted it’s first packing party tonight. OCC is a project run by Samaritan’s Purse that provides shoeboxes full of goodies for children all over the world. Our family has participated for several years but this is the first time we made it a church wide mission.
We began our evening with pizza and Christmas cookies. Then commenced to packing, with a goal of 109 boxes. We had about 50 volunteers ranging in age from 1 to 85 and everyone worked. What a tremendous blessing to see the body of Christ come together to work on this project. Thank you to our fearless coordinator Christy who worked all year long getting donations together and prepping everything to make this such a success!
In the end we packed our 109 boxes and then some. Add the 50 plus boxes that our church members are packing at home and we hope to send out 175 boxes from our little country church to children all over the world. God is good!
